Do air purifiers get rid of dust?+

They take dust out of the air that passes through the filter. They do not pick up dust that has already settled on shelves and floors. You still need to dust and vacuum.

What CADR do I need for dust?+

The EPA sizing chart lists a minimum CADR of 130 cfm for a 200 sq ft room, 195 cfm for 300 sq ft and 390 cfm for 600 sq ft, with an 8-foot ceiling. AHAM gives the same idea as the 2/3 rule: the CADR should be at least two-thirds of the room's floor area.

How often should I change the filter?+

Follow the maker's schedule. Levoit says every 6 to 8 months for the Core 300. Coway says one year for the HEPA filter on the AP-1512HH and one year for the Max2 set on the Airmega 400. A very dusty home may need a change sooner.
